Meet Bob

I’m Bob Fanelli, MSc, FAFS — a Movement Performance Specialist who helps active adults and athletes reduce pain, restore movement, and improve performance.
My work is grounded in Applied Functional Science, biomechanics, and whole-body movement assessment. Instead of focusing only on the area that hurts, I look at how your body moves as an integrated system to identify the root cause of compensation, limitation, or breakdown.
For many people, pain, stiffness, or recurring injury is not just about one joint or one muscle. It is often the result of how the body moves, adapts, and manages load over time. My job is to help uncover those patterns and build a plan that improves how you move, train, and perform.
I work with active adults, athletes, and individuals returning from injury who want more than a temporary fix. Whether your goal is to feel better, move with more confidence, or build strength with greater resilience, the process is personalized to you.
My background includes advanced training in movement assessment, chain-reaction biomechanics, injury recovery, and performance optimization. I also served as a teaching faculty member in the Applied Functional Science Program at the Gray Institute for nearly a decade.
If you are looking for a thoughtful, whole-body approach that helps you move better and perform at a higher level, I would be glad to help.
My Family
A Little More About Me
Family is everything to me. I'm the proud father of an incredible son who brings me endless joy — he holds half my heart. The other half belongs to my wife, my partner for over 33 years. Her support makes everything in my world make sense.
We've called New Rochelle, NY, home our entire lives. Body By Design was born here, and serving this community isn't just my job — it's my privilege.
