Today’s need is to listen to the Heart.
Our Heart is at the very core of who we are as human beings. It is the gateway to our Spirit, our true Authentic self. Much like the electricity changed the outer world, learning to harness the power and intelligence of the heart can change our inner world.
Most of us have been taught in school that the heart is just a ‘mechanical’ pump that helps move our blood.
BUT, did you know????
- The heart and the brain communicate with each other And that the heart sends far more information to the brain than the brain does to the heart.
- The heart has a system of neurons that have both short and long term memory, and the heart signals they send to the brain have a significant effect on brain function—influencing emotional processing as well as higher cognitive faculties such as attention, perception, memory, and problem-solving.
-In other words, not only does the heart respond to the brain, but the brain continuously responds to the heart.
- When the brain and heart are out of sync, our nervous system signals are chaotic and we tend to get frustrated, anxious or angry more easily. It’s like driving a car with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. It’s a jerky ride, we waste gas and the car wears out faster. We are out of balance and incoherent.
- What we need is for our heart and brain to become Coherent. Coherence is when the heart, mind and emotions are in sync. Coherence is the prime enabler of behavior change. Stress is the prime disabler. -If I said that you could shift from a state of stress or heart incoherence to a state of calmness or heart coherence in two minutes or less would you believe me?
